I am committed to making Providence a safer and more livable city. Our work to reduce violence requires everyone in the community to work together toward that goal. I applaud everyone involved in the Steven K. Latimer Memorial 5K Families Against Violence Run/Walk. This event will help spread the message for non-violence and make our streets safer for all of our children.

the Steven K. Latimer Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Steven's death was the result of a senseless act of violence,
but his life will be honored by educational opportunities to those children who have suffered the loss of a parent.

The Steven Latimer Road Race brings together
the caring community to stand up for Nonviolence,
and support children's education who have lost a parent or a guardian.
It is a remarkable way to honor a beautiful life cut short prematurely.
